Help for Supervisors

Supervisors are positioned to notice early warning signs of employee and workgroup problems. That’s why it is important to provide a range of resources, tools and expert support to help manage workplace problems before they escalate and impact your organization’s bottom line. BHS offers the following:

Unlimited Telephonic Consults

  • BHS Management Consultants are experienced in helping supervisors define their challenging situations and focus on problem-solving techniques. Specifically, Management Consultants help supervisors:

Supervisor Referrals

  • BHS serves as a resource for supervisors and/or HR personnel to refer employees to the EAP for assistance and to improve their work performance.

Drug Free Workplace

The National Council on Compensation Insurance reports that 38 to 50 percent of all workers’ compensation claims are related to substance abuse. In addition, according to the Bureau of National Affairs, substance abusers are three times more likely to use medical benefits than other employees.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)

From responding to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and providing crises support during hurricane Katrina to working with organizations to address downsizing or threats of work place violence, BHS has provided thousands of hours of critical incident services to hundreds of clients nationwide. Our national scope and extensive provider network allows us to respond immediately, 24/7 to any crises, no matter the size. BHS offers expert, professional crisis response services that include:

  • Ongoing consultation and planning for critical incidents in the workplace;

  • Management consultation for specific incidents of trauma or workplace violence;

  • Provision of emergency on site defusing and debriefing services as needed;

  • Capability for command support and such services as emergency telephone hot lines;

  • Ongoing individual counseling for affected personnel as well as spouse and family support;

  • Follow up and team recovery services as an integral aspect of all CISD responding; and
